Hey, so nice to see you here! My name is Majken and here’s a word or two about me.

 

First of all: I am a big fan of historical non-fiction…when it is told in exciting and creative ways.

 

In my BLOG I share historically rooted real-life stories from around the world, along with thoughts and activities that circle the creative process of writing.

​

This season of Autumn 2024 I'll zoom in on how women see the world. I believe we need more female perspectives in the fields of history and writing and this is my contribution to a 50-50 female/male balance. I call it:

 

'On *Feminomenal* History and Writing'

Digging into the past is something I’ve always done - “always” as in since I was about 4 y.o., and my parents took me to museums and historic sites around Europe on summer holidays.

 

Perhaps this is why I choose to study cultural and historical subjects at the university, who knows? But sitting behind a desk is not enough, so all through my adult life, I have spent as much time as possible, travelling the world, exploring places and people, and it has all been very inspiring. 

 

However, during these travels, there’s one thing I’ve noticed in particular: when stopping by a bookstore or a museum shop, the selection of exciting non-fiction history books was often quite small.

 

Fortunately, this is slowly changing. More and more inspiring ways of telling about the past turn up here and there - books, videos, movies, podcasts, games etc. Which is absolutely great.
